Apology

June 26, 2008

Hey guys. Here’s my apology for clogging up our site with posts about the friars and like baseball n’ stuff:

Candace dunked again.

Cool.

And unrelated, this song was stuck in my head for an entire shift at work. And it was only the chorus, so like 6 words. GREAT. Thanks capital.

I was wrong V2

I’m sorry Kendrick. I was wrong. Maybe you’re not my Jason Campbell. When you have the best night by a Celtics center in like 3 years (Mark Blount had some sick games) you’re excluded from the Jason Campbell category. Who is it then? I know it’s definitely not a point guard that used to wear #12 for the Friars. Maybe it’s Tony Allen. I like Tony Allen a lot. I’ll figure it out soon enough.

I was wrong

Now I remember why I liked Bill Simmons. This article is great. I even agree with some of his “analysis.” He also gives us these two lines:

I know she’s doing a fine job, but does it make me a sexist that I can’t listen to Doris Burke analyze NBA playoff games without thinking, “Woman talking woman talking woman talking woman talking …” the entire time?

Ne’r a truer word be spoken.

Also:

All right, I’ll ask: How come it took three seconds to euthanize Eight Belles, but the WNBA is starting Year 12?

Because the WNBA has Candace Parker!!! But seriously, I can’t wait until the Connecticut Sun- LA Sparks game in July where I go and am the only straight male in the arena. I think I’ll hold up a sign that says, “Candace, dump Sheldon, Marry Me instead!” It’s gonna totally work.

This Is a Big Deal Yes?

Does the NBA usually admit when it is wrong? I was pretty shocked when they did the replay of that heat hawks game earlier this year. And now the NBA comes out with this.

“After reviewing the video of last night’s Pistons-Magic game, we determined that the play that concluded with Chauncey Billups’ 3-point field goal at the end of the third quarter took approximately 5.7 seconds,” the statement read. “Because there were only 5.1 seconds remaining in the quarter when the play began, the shot would not have counted had the clock continued to run.”

Even though the magic lost by more than three, the game was certainly close enough for magic fans to be angry(at least the shot clock worked). And now the Magic are up like 20 points in the first quarter in game three. I thought the NBA didn’t want a Spurs-Pistons finals. But after the Billups play, and some questionable calls (Duncan tripping on his own feet, Bowen knocking the ball out of bounds) in the spurs suns series, Im not so sure. (Here’s ginobili doin what he does best)
